Luxury is often associated with finished products on runways or in boutiques. Yet behind every luxury item lies a complex process that blends creativity, craftsmanship, branding strategy, and innovation. For students specializing in luxury management, understanding this process is essential.
This week, students from the Swiss School of Management Brescia are stepping directly into the heart of the luxury creation process through an immersive experience at the Alberto Zambelli Accademia in Cremona.
Understanding the Luxury Market Beyond Theory
The visit follows a series of lectures focused on branding, marketing, and design innovation within the luxury sector. Rather than limiting their learning to case studies or classroom discussion, students are now applying these concepts in a real design environment.
At the Accademia, each student has been paired with one of Alberto Zambelli’s design experts. Together, they are working on the development of original product concepts, moving step-by-step through the early stages of the design and innovation process.

A Unique Opportunity to Witness the Creative Process
For many business students interested in luxury management, the design phase often remains abstract. Experiencing it firsthand reveals how closely strategy and creativity are intertwined in the luxury industry.
By working alongside experienced designers, students gain insight into:
- How creative ideas evolve into tangible products
- The importance of craftsmanship and detail in luxury goods
- The collaboration between designers, brand strategists, and marketers
- The role of innovation in maintaining exclusivity and brand identity
This hands-on experience highlights an important reality of luxury management: successful brands are built not only through marketing, but through a deep understanding of the creative process that defines luxury itself.

Learning from the Industry’s Leading Creative Hubs
This workshop in Cremona is part of a broader immersive learning journey that has already taken students to Milan during Milan Fashion Week. During that visit, students had the opportunity to attend the fashion show of the Princess of Qatar and her luxury fashion label AFRAA.
By engaging directly with designers and industry experts, students develop a deeper understanding of how luxury brands are built, managed, and positioned in an increasingly competitive global market.
