Kicking Off the International Student Week in Rome

Kicking Off the International Student Week in Rome

The International Student Week at SSM Rome officially began with a warm welcome to students from Fontys, Hanze, UCLL, Ephec, HELMo, and Artevelde.

Day 1: Orientation & Acquaintance

Held at our Rome Campus in Piazza del Biscione, the first day opened with a warm official welcome and an introduction by Laura Bolling, our SSM Rome’s In-Residence Director. With excitement in the air, students got to know one another during the Student Introduction session, while professors outlined the week’s objectives and expectations through an interactive quiz.

To wrap up the day, participants enjoyed a European-style aperitivo before heading out for a guided Rome City Tour, where they explored the Eternal City’s most iconic landmarks—a perfect setting to spark new friendships and connections.

Day 2: Project Presentations & Teamwork Begins

The second day shifted gears into academic focus, beginning with Project Presentations, where students shared their ideas and received initial feedback. After a relaxing lunch break, the group attended an engaging Guest Lecture on Gamification, exploring how playful design can transform serious business challenges.
The day concluded with the first Work session, setting the tone for a week of collaboration, critical thinking, and innovative problem-solving.
